A 25-year veteran of the Chicago production community…

and one heck of a fun guy to work with, John Hannon specializes in specializes in Camera Jib, Steadicam and Video Camera Operation. From lighting/shooting ENG and film-style productions to operating on multi-camera shoots in the corporate, entertainment, and sports worlds, John is the “go-to” guy for all your Chicago and Midwest area productions.

My background is deep, having worked as a freelance camera and jib operator, grip, gaffer and editor over the course of my lengthy career.  Whether it’s working as part of a 20-person crew on a sports or live-event shoot or as a “1-man band” shooting corporate, news or documentary footage, I always bring my A-game to the gig.

The Sony PXW-FS7 XDCAM Super35 4K Camera System has become the go-to camera for directors of photography who don’t accept limits, restrictions or boundaries.  Featuring a Super 35mm size sensor that allows you to capture images with cinematic depth of field, the FS7 shoots DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) Up to 60p and 1080p video at frame rates up to 180 fps in full HD resolution! It accepts interchangeable E-mount lenses, as well as a variety of 35mm SLR and DSLR lenses and professional cinema lenses.

Compact, lightweight and designed to fast track your footage from camera to editorial. Ki Pro Mini mounts easily to the FS700 Digital Cinema Camera and records ‘ready-to-edit’ files in Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD formats, providing the fastest path from camera to editorial.  Recording in 10-bit 4:2:2 provides superior representation of the original scene, allowing for more flexibility in post production, color grading, and chromakey effects work.

Versatility & performance combined.

The Panasonic HPX-500 records directly to four P2 cards making it ideal for long-format productions.  Shooting in frame rates ranging from 1080i, 720p, and 480i and capable of under and over cranking, the HPX-500 provides the versatility and performance required for Cine-Like Video Production.  Choose from a selection of Canon long and wide angle lenses with a Chroziel matte box and 4x4 filters.

With a maximum height of more than 2 stories (30′) the Jimmy Jib Extreme provides for an unparalleled visual perspective for sporting events, trade shows demonstrations, live shows and concerts.

The Jimmy Jib Extreme comes with Remote Pan and Tilt, Zoom, Focus, and Iris, as well as both a four wheel and a three wheel dolly system. A Dutch Head mount is available on request.

Capable of supporting up to 50 pounds, the Jimmy Jib Extreme can handle video and film cameras alike.

The Jimmy Jib Extreme is configured for single-person operation allowing for control over camera pan, tilt, and zoom, lens focus and iris, and jib arm boom/ swing. This efficient set-up allows for unrehearsed movement and total creative freedom.

The Jimmy Jib Extreme breaks down into easily movable cases and can be transported by mini-van.
